GRANTS, BURSARIES, PRIZES
‘Winsor award,’ provided by Concordia University and the Winsor Gallery, Vancouver. Grant and solo show at Winsor gallery awarded in March 2011 for completion at a future date.
‘Artist Residency,’ provided by the Klondike Institute of Art and Culture. Awarded in July 2010 for completion in June 2011. Grant given for a month-long residency at KIAC in Dawson City, Yukon, Canada. Travel grant also provided by the Canada Council for the Arts.
‘Youth Arts Bursary,’ provided by the Canadian Art Foundation. Awarded in October 2010 for completion in February 2011. Bursary given to provide a community art workshop at the Walter Philips’ Other Gallery at the Banff Centre.
‘Dale and Nick Tedeschi Studio Arts Fellowship,’ provided by Dale and Nick Tedeschi. Awarded in September 2009. Fellowship given for first year of graduate study at Concordia University.
‘Residency with Artist’s Grant,’ provided by the Vermont Studio Center. Awarded in October 2008 for completion in March 2009. Grant given for a month-long residency at the Vermont Studio Center.
‘Emerging Artist Award,’ provided by the Federation of Canadian Artists as part of the annual ‘Painting on the Edge’ juried exhibition in 2008. The award was given for the painting, ‘Mute Witness’ and was chosen from over 700 applications.
‘Emerging Artist Grant,’ provided by the Imperial Tobacco Artistic Development Board. Awarded in June, 2004. Grant given for installation of collaborative drawing project ‘The Utopic Dream of the Sun in a Box’ by Matt Shane and Jim Holyoak, displayed at the Lift Gallery in Montreal. Awarded on the basis of academic and artistic merit in final year of study.
‘1st Art Painting Competition National Winner,’ provided by the Bank Of Montreal Artistic Development Board. Awarded in May, 2004. Award given for ‘Rhizome,’ acrylic and ink on board, 2004. Awarded on the basis of academic and artistic merit in final year of Bfa program.
‘Final Exhibtion Award Winner,’ provided by the University of Victoria Fine Arts Administration. Awarded in May, 2004. Award given for ‘Rhizome no. 1 & 2,’ acrylic and ink on board, 2004. Awarded on the basis of artistic presentation in the Uvic final exhibition, 2004.

TEACHING EXPERIENCE
‘Part-time faculty, Concordia University.’ Instructor for a year-long Painting 200 class. 2011-present.
‘Walter Phillips Gallery Public Program, Banff Centre.’ Instructor for a week-long public program working with local elementary, middle and high school students to create a room-sized collaborative drawing installation. This course was instructed collaboratively with Jim Holyoak, 2011.
‘TA position, Concordia University.’ Assisted Concordia faculty members in running a drawing class and a painting class. 2009 – 2011.
